Lazy Gardener Gives Ashfield Residents Gardening Tips!

||
Date: Wednesday 28th September

Ashfield's older residents were given some first hand gardening tips with local radio star at an Information Day.

Radio Mansfield’s ‘Lazy Gardener’ Rob Foster came along to the event, held on Wednesday 28th September to give a talk about container gardening.

Hundreds of local elderly residents came along to the day organised by Ashfield District Council, held at the Acacia Community Centre in Annesley.

A diverse range of agencies including Age UK, Ashfield Homes, First Contact and the Council were there to give advice on how to improve the quality of life in later years and answer questions that people are concerned about.

The crafts sessions led by Joan Lawson also proved very popular with the visitors where they made a range of items.

Event organiser, Melanie Jackson, Ashfield District Council said: “The event has gone really well with agencies giving lots of advice and information to our residents. We had an amazing turnout and hope to continue organising events such as these that can make a difference to people lives”.
