Albert Street Play Area Reopened

||
Date: 21st September, 2011

The play area next to Hucknall Leisure Centre has benefited from a £50,000 makeover and is now reopen!
The area has been designed with toddlers in mind and boasts a brand new climbing frame, roundabout, net climber, see-saw and cradle swings. Junior swings are scheduled to be re-installed on the park in the next few weeks.

The design was influenced by comments from local families and includes more spaces for parents and carers to sit and an accessible path as well as the improved play equipment.

A second phase of provision aimed at infants and juniors is planned and Ashfield District Council will be consulting with families and residents in the near future.

The play area complements the popular “adiZone” fitness space and has revitalised the recreation ground.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for phase 2 of the project, please email them to parks@ashfield-dc.gov.uk
