Direct Debit

A convenient method to pay Council Tax and Business Rates is by Direct Debit. The quickest way to set up a Direct Debit is to give us a ring. Telephone 01623 457400 with your bank details to hand and we can set up your direct debit in a few minutes.

There are no forms to fill in if you telephone us, but if you prefer to fill in a form and post it to us you can download a Council Tax Direct Debit authorisation form. This will authorise your bank to make regular and automatic electronic payments for paying your Council Tax.

You can also pay Business Rates (NNDR) by Direct Debit. For more information please see "Business Rates - Paying by Direct Debit".

Other Methods

You can also visit our main office or one of our cash offices to make a payment, or pay at post offices, or contact us to make a payment over the phone by credit or debit card (telephone 01623 457231).

Payments by post should be addressed to:

Ashfield District Council
Revenues and IT Division
Urban Road
Kirkby-in-Ashfield
Nottinghamshire
NG17 8DA

Cheques should be made payable to Ashfield District Council and crossed a/c payee only. You must quote your invoice/reference number so that we can process your payment. Please do not send post-dated cheques.

Cash should not be sent by post.

On-line Banking

If you want to have more control over your payments you can pay by internet banking if your bank/building society provides this service.

If you have an account with a bank or building society, the chances are that you will be able to pay Council Tax through their website.

If your bank doesn't have our details, you will need to know that Ashfield District Council's sort code is 08-90-74 and the Council's account number is 61170005 . You will also have to quote your Council Tax account number; this is the eight digit number that starts with a 4. It can be found near the bottom of your Council Tax bill.

Below is a list of websites for the most popular high-street banks and building societies that offer internet or digital banking services.

There are also a number of banks that operate almost exclusively on the Internet. Below is a selection of the most popular:
