Community Of Christ

The Community Of Christ (until 2000 called the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) has had a congregation in Sutton-in-Ashfield since 1905.

The present church building, on the Oval, Carsic Estate, was opened in 1964.

Standing as it does on high ground in the centre of the estate, the church has a tower that is a recognisable landmark, easily visible from many parts of the surrounding area.

This denomination readily shares in combined Christian endeavours with other churches.

A wide variety of worship and social activities are held in the church and the Wednesday morning drop-in is one of the events that is popular with members, friends and visitors.

Community of Christ is a worldwide organisation with churches in over forty countries in all five continents. Their mission statement is:

" We proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of JOY, HOPE, LOVE, and PEACE."
