Cultural Strategy

||
This Cultural Strategy is about opportunity and change at local level; its focus is to highlight the existing extensive cultural provision and partnerships in the District, and the important contribution these are making within local communities, while identifying the potential for future cultural activity as part of the overall regeneration of the District.

Front cover of the Ashfield Cultural StrategyThis Strategy is about developing the cultural opportunities in Ashfield District to contribute to and improve the quality of life in local communities.

‘Culture’ is intrinsically about what we do in our daily lives, our interests and achievements, our involvement, values and our attitudes. It is what makes the District distinctive and unique.

The development of cultural activities in the District reflects what we think is important about the area, its social heritage, future environment and the people who live, work and visit here.

This cultural strategy adopts the principles of the ‘Leading the Good Life’ DCMS Guide to developing Cultural Strategies, 2006:
