Cultural Strategy
||
This Strategy
is about developing the cultural opportunities in Ashfield District to contribute to and improve the quality of life in local
communities.
‘Culture’ is intrinsically about what we do in our daily lives, our interests and achievements, our involvement, values and our attitudes. It is what makes the District distinctive and unique.
The development of cultural activities in the District reflects what we think is important about the area, its social heritage, future environment and the people who live, work and visit here.
This cultural strategy adopts the principles of the ‘Leading the Good Life’ DCMS Guide to developing Cultural Strategies, 2006:
- Establish a strong case for the contribution of culture
- Put the community into cultural and community planning
- Build a strong partnership for culture
- Build effective leadership for culture
