The Ashfield Playing Pitch Strategy was adopted in by the Council on the 4th September 2008. The Strategy provides the framework for the provision of playing pitches with community access across Ashfield. It will help the Council identify where existing facilities require upgrading and the new local standards for sports pitch provision will show where new facilities are required. In order to develop these standards all levels of amateur club provision and participation have been assessed. Sports included are football, cricket, rugby union, hockey, bowls, netball and tennis. This strategy will also ensure that Ashfield meets the requirements for playing pitches in accordance with Sport England guidance.

Should you have any queries regarding the Strategy, please contact the Planning Policy and Projects team on 01623 457383 or e-mail ldf@ashfield-dc.gov.uk
