Postal Voting
||
Ashfield District Council want to make it easier for people to use their vote in this year's District and Parish Council elections, and at all future elections.
The easiest and most convenient way to vote is by post.
Anyone registered to vote can apply for a postal vote.
We will send the ballot paper to you - wherever you are!

What Should I Do If I Already Vote By Post?
If you have a postal vote already you do not need to reapply (Ring the helpline if you are not sure).
If you want to have your ballot paper sent to a different address, tell us in writing.
Do I Have To Apply For A Postal Vote For Each Election?
No, you can apply to vote by post for a particular election, for a set period of time or for all future elections.
Once I've Applied To Vote By Post What Happens?
Your ballot paper will be sent to you within a week or so of the election.
When you have received your ballot paper, mark your vote, sign the statement and enter your date of birth.
Return both documents in the prepaid envelope. (No stamp is needed - unless you are returning it from abroad - in which case you will need to pay the postage).
Send the postal vote back as soon as possible. It must arrive before the polls close on Election Day. If it is too late to post it back you can hand it in at a polling station or to the Returning Officer at the Council Offices, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
Your Postal vote will be mixed with votes from the polling station before counting begins, so your vote will be secret.
