The Environmental Protection Section also provide services relating to the control of noisy dogs.
The Dog Control Service can also help if you lose your dog.
In addition, Ashfield District Council provides residents with a number of other services to control stray dogs, reduce dog fouling and promote animal welfare within the District.
These services include:
- providing a micro-chipping service
- providing "poop scoop" bags to dispose of animal mess
- offering a dog neutering and spaying service

Cruelty to animals – who should you call?
If you suspect that an animal of any kind is being subjected to any form of cruelty then the only organisation which can legally deal with this is the Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). The RSPCA can be contacted through their 24-hour cruelty line 0300 1234 999.
