Dog Warden Schemes

The Dog Control Service aims to deal with problems caused by irresponsible dog ownership.

Such as straying/ dangerous dogs and dog fouling.

The Environmental Protection Section also provide services relating to the control of noisy dogs.

The Dog Control Service can also help if you lose your dog.

In addition, Ashfield District Council provides residents with a number of other services to control stray dogs, reduce dog fouling and promote animal welfare within the District.

Cruelty to animals – who should you call? 

If you suspect that an animal of any kind is being subjected to any form of cruelty then the only organisation which can legally deal with this is the Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA (link to RSPCA website). The RSPCA can be contacted through the National Cruelty Helpline on 0870 5555 999.
