Climate Change

||
Climate Change is a global issue and if individuals or local authorities don't take action against climate change now, in a few decades our families, children and grandchildren will have a very different world to live in.

Climate Change

There will be more storms, floods, heat waves and droughts. Food and water shortages will be more common and some climate sensitive animals and plants will become extinct.

It is within our ability to prevent this from happening, but it requires every individual as well as industry and the world's governments to play their part. The climate is changing because of the way we produce and use energy to provide us with electricity, heat our homes, power our factories, run transport systems. By changing our behaviour we can reduce our emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses that are causing the dramatic changes in our climate.

Rising energy costs mean that the Council, local businesses and Ashfield's residents will face increased bills for electricity, travel, food and other goods and services.
