Abandoned Vehicles - Scrap Collection Service

If you are a resident of the Ashfield area and own a vehicle that has reached the end of its useful life, the Council can dispose of it for you, free of charge.

To be eligible to use this free service you must be able to answer yes to the following questions:

  1. Do you live within the boundaries of Ashfield District Council?
  2. Are you the registered keeper of the vehicle which you wish the Council to dispose of?
  3. Are you prepared to surrender the vehicle registration document to the Council, who will return the registration document to the DVLA following disposal of the vehicle?

Smashed carIf you have answered yes to all three of the above questions then all you need to do is complete and sign a "Removal of Scrap Vehicle at Owners Request" consent form.

Completed consent forms must be returned, along with your vehicle log book (V5), to Ashfield District Council's Environmental Health Department.

Up to a maximum of two vehicles will be collected free of charge by the Council from any one address in the District.
