Ashfield District Council: Local Nature Reserve

Local Nature Reserve

Brierley Forest Park was formally declared as a Local Nature Reserve on 4thMay 2006 by Ashfield District Council.

This new declaration means that the Council now have 4 Local Nature Reserves in the District, these are:

Portland Park,
Kirkby, Teversal to Pleasley Railway,
Bentinck Banks
Brierley Forest Park.

A further 3 sites are currently in the declaration process, these consist of Part of Lawn Pleasure Ground, Kings Mill Reservoir and Jacksdale Nature Reserve. It is hoped that these will be formally declared later this year.
