Consultation - Planning Policy and Projects
||Revised Statement of Community Involvement Consultation
14th December 2009 – 11th January 2010
Since the adoption of the current Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) in November 2006, the East Midlands Regional Plan (EMRP), which guides local decision making, has been published. The EMRP advises that the Council should work more closely with the local authorities that make up Greater Nottingham (Broxtowe, Erewash, Gedling, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe) to ensure that boundaries do not get in the way of good service delivery.
This has resulted in the need to review the timescale for delivering the Local Development Framework to accord with the other Greater Nottingham Authorities. The revised SCI includes only minor changes to take this into account. The main objectives of the adopted SCI remain unchanged.

Spatial Growth Options Consultation
This consultation ended on 30th November 2009
The "Area Based Spatial Growth Options" consultation builds on the Issues and Options consultation carried out earlier this year and sets out a proposed spatial vision and spatial objectives along with a number of possible options to enable the Council to deliver the growth required for the District. The options are split into the three main areas of the District, these areas are:
- Hucknall;
- Sutton-in-Ashfield/Kirkby-in-Ashfield; and
- Villages (Selston, Jacksdale and Underwood).
After this document has been through public consultation the District Council will commence preparation of the "Preferred Options" document which will identify the Council's preferred policy options and locations for future growth. It is anticipated that public consultation on the Preferred Options will commence early in 2010.
To view the responses, please see the Spatial Growth Options page.
Public consultation on the Issues and Options
This consultation ended on 31st July 2009
This Issues and Options consultation is the first stage in preparing a Core Strategy for Ashfield. We have identified the main issues facing the district and the options available to address those issues. What we need to know is whether these are the right issues, whether there are issues that we've missed, which options are the best and whether there are any other options.
To view the responses, please see the Issues and Options page.

On Friday 11th and Saturday 12th July, a public consultation took place in Hucknall Market Place to give residents the opportunity to express their views on the Masterplan options for the regeneration of Hucknall town centre.
Ashfield District Council has commissioned urban designers and planners URBED to prepare the masterplan, and URBED have developed ideas and urban strategies for the future of Hucknall. The two day exhibition and public consultation was very well attended, despite the absence of the "Big Red Bus", which was, unfortunately unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
