12 Chapel Street, KirkbyFarmhouse, late C18. Adjoining cottage rebuilt late C20. Dressed stone and brick with slate roofs. 3 gable stacks, 2 storeys plus garrets and 3 bays. L-plan. Windows are mainly C20 sashes.

South front has off-centre door with overlight, flanked to the left by a single sash and to the right by 2 sashes. Above, 3 sashes, the central one smallest.

West end to the left, has a 2 storey rear wing with door flanked by a single casement. To the right a casement. Above, 3 casements. Above again a garret casement.

East gable has 2 garret casements. To the right a 2 storey service wing, late C18, with doorway and 2 casements. Above, 2 casements. To the right again, adjoining cottage wing has to the west, door flanked by a single casement. Above 2 casements.

South gable has blocked carriage opening. Above, to the right a casement with segmental head.

East side has 2 casements and above, 3 casements, all with segmental heads.

This building is in the Kirkby Conservation Area.
