Submitting Your Application
||Preliminary Enquiry Forms
Preliminary enquiry forms enable you to submit some basic details of your householder development proposals to us. We can then use this information to determine whether or not you will need to apply for Planning Permission and/or Building Regulation Approval, or that the work you wish to carry out is exempt.

If you haven't completed a planning application form before or you are unsure about which type of approval or forms you need, the Planning Portal's Form Chooser can help you to select the appropriate documentation. Please see "Different types of planning permission" and "Developments requiring planning permission" for further guidance.
Planning Application Forms and Guidance Notes
Once you know which forms you require, the forms are available from the Planning Portal website or from our planning forms section. Submitting an electronic application using the Planning Portal means you will only need to complete one set of forms and you will not have any printing or postage costs associated with a paper-based application. Visit the Planning Portal to learn more about the benefits of submitting applications electronically.
If you have difficulty downloading any form, or would prefer to receive copies through the post, please contact Development Advice & Control.
The Council is keen to ensure that the planning application you submit is valid on submission and that we can process it promptly without the need to contact you for further details or information. To make sure that the forms are filled in correctly and that all the necessary supporting documentation we require has been included, please read the Scheme of Validation for Planning Applications to determine which information must be submitted with each application type.
