Tackling Child Obesity in the hope of making them Fitter, Healthier and most of all Happier !! Obesity ... The facts |
-
Approximately 700,000 obese children live in the UK alone.
-
An overweight child is more likely to become an overweight adult if the problem is not recognised early.
-
Children who are overweight have a higher risk of developing serious health problems in later life: Heart attacks, strokes and type 2 diabetes to name a few.
-
40-60% of children who are over the age of 6 are spending less than the recommended minimum of an hours moderately intense activity each day.
-
Worst of all, obesity can cut a life short by nine years !!
