CO2 Reduction
||Ashfield District Council - 'Best Practice' Certification
The 2006 edition of Approved Document Part L1 outlines the minimum standards in approaching energy efficiency requirements. The Ashfield best practice proposal in an initiative to assist Architects, Home Owners and Builders aspire to achieve higher standards of energy efficiency through building fabric specification. The Best Practice would exceed the proposed standards outlined in the changes to the new approved document part L. The objective of the Best Practice standard is to produce a reduction in CO2 emissions throughout new buildings and extensions in the Ashfield District.
In building to this best practice guide CO2 emission shall be reduced beyond the minimum requirements outlined in the current Building Regulations and shall be a pre-emptive action of awareness to prepare for the proposed introduction on amendments to approved Document L in October 2010 when Ashfield District Council will review our Best Practice guidance to again offer incentives to Keep CO2 emissions below the minimum standards.
