You can claim if you:

• have to pay rent to a private landlord, Housing Association or for a Ashfield Homes property;
• pay Council Tax on your home;
• have savings of less than £16,000. If you are over 60, you may be able to have more than £16,000 in savings.
• are on a low income, for example you work full time, part time or are self-employed and get a low wage or you get any state benefit.

Not everyone shown on the above list can claim both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. We will work out what you can claim when you fill in our application form.
