People Studying

||
Person studyingJobseeker's Allowance is not normally payable if you are a full time student. However if you are a member of a couple, you are both full time students and one of you is responsible for a child, you may be able to receive Jobseeker's Allowance during the summer vacation. If you are a lone parent or have a disability, you may be able to make a claim for Income Support.

If you are studying part-time, you may still be able to get Jobseeker's Allowance provided that you remain available for, and actively seeking, work. It will depend on your circumstances and the number of hours you are studying. Whether you are studying full-time or part-time, speak to your Employment Service Adviser, so you can be sure how you are affected.

More detailed information about entitlement to Jobseeker's Allowance if you are studying is in the leaflet JSALS4 - The Rules on Part- Time Education and Training.
