Ashfield District Council provides support and advice to local artists, schools, community groups and organisations.

Mighty Zulu Nation demonstrating song, costume and dance at local schoolsThe aim is to develop a diverse range of arts activities and events to meet the needs of local people and visitors to the area.

We are committed to working with a range of external partners on projects which contribute to the general well being of residents. An example of this is the Gently Moving project which is a video resource pack developed by Ashfield District Council and Dance 4 to promote and support creative movement with older people.

Major Event: Ashfield Arts Festival takes place with a Mayday Celebration, including events and activities for all the family, for two weeks beginning on the Mayday Bank Holiday.

Craft Sessions at Teversal Visitor Centre

Regular classes for children aged 6-11 held during school holidays. The cost is £1.00 and includes all materials and refreshments. Please book a place the day before each session.
