Multi-Cultural Arts

||

Zulu WarriorsThree schools in Ashfield have joined together to embark upon a multicultural Arts project which introduces pupils to the cultures of India, Africa and China through workshops and activities exploring a range of art forms. The three schools are Westwood Infant and Nursery School, Selston Infant and Nursery School, and All Saints Infant School, Huthwaite.

The project, offers pupils the opportunity to work with a range of professional artists who celebrate their cultural identity through their work.

The Mighty Zulu Nation from South Africa kick-started the project, performing their powerful blend of music & dance at all three schools in October 2001. Children have also had the opportunity to try Chinese Ribbon dance, Indian dance and African Dance.
