Grazing

||
Grazing land is open land owned by the local authority which may be used by the public for grazing animals. Grazing land is offered on a licence agreement between 12 months and three years.

Where are the sites?

The Council owns a limited number of sites at various locations which are used for grazing horses. Please note, allotments can no longer be used to graze animals (e.g. pigs, goats).

Are there any vacancies?

It is very unusual for any of the sites used for grazing to become vacant. Nevertheless, the Council maintains a mailing list where the names and addresses of interested parties are retained on record for approximately a year. Should you require any further information regarding grazing in the District or wish to have you name added to the mailing list please contact Estates Management.

How much does it cost?

The licence fee depends on the size of the field. Terms of the licence will be discussed when a site is offered.
