Carpet bowls

||
Carpet Bowls is a fun and enjoyable game, which has a competitive edge to it, but more is mentally stimulating. The game is suitable for all ages and abilities and is ideal for meeting new people.
Carpet Bowls is noted as being one of the fastest growing sports in the U.K.. The concept of the game is very similar to Indoor Bowls the only difference is that it is played on a carpet. One of the best features of the game is that it can be played in most small halls. The level of competition associated with the game depends entirely on the individual but mainly the game is great socially and is played by both males and females.

In Ashfield the game is particularly popular and can be seen to be played in most community centres through out the district. Since being introduced the game has helped people to become more active and be involved in a social environments and with the ongoing competitions the game has begun to rise to another level.

Anyone interested in Carpet Bowls please contact Ashfield District Council's Sports and Health Team on 01623-457410 who will be able to give you more details of the game and where it can be played.
