Verges

||
The majority of grass verges adjacent to roads is within the public highway and therefore come under the responsibility of the Council in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council, the Highway Authority.

Ashfield District Council works in partnership with the Highway Authority (Nottinghamshire County Council) to keep verges safe and unobstructed. This work is particularly important at road junctions where clear visibility for motorists and pedestrians is important.

In rural areas, some grass verges have daffodils planted and here the grass cutting regime is tailored to suit. To find out more about grass cutting on council owned areas, please click here.
