Grass cutting
||We do not cut the grass that is:
- privately owned
- on properties/estates owned by bodies other than the Council
We will cut the grass on all council owned land, such as:
- highways (in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council)
- verges
- public open space
- parks
- town centres
- memorial gardens
The grass cutting of highway verges is carried out by Ashfield District Council, as partners to Nottinghamshire County Council, the Highway Authority.

The Council cuts the grass between 15 and 20 times per year following a cyclic maintenance program. Grass clippings are not removed this is standard practice throughout most councils and is in accordance with British Standard 7370.
