Changes To Ashfield's Highway Services
Changes to Ashfield's Highway Services became effective from 1st April when the services formerly carried out by Ashfield District Council were transferred back to Nottinghamshire County Council.
Issues relating to weeds, hedges and trees on the highway should also be reported to Nottinghamshire County Council on the number above.
Ashfield District Council remains responsible for environmental cleanliness within the district, irrespective of whether it relates to the highway or not.
For 2012/13, the district council will also continue to cut highways grass verges. This means issues with litter, dog fouling, grass cutting, needles and fly-tipping on the highway should still be reported to the district council on 0800 183 84 84.
NEW DESIGNATED PUBLIC PLACES ORDER (DPPO)
Ashfield District Council has a new Designated Public Places Order which came into affect on 1st April 2012. This gives Police Officers and other accredited persons enhanced powers to take action to curb drinking in the streets, or publc places, which results in anti-social behaviour.
